RIYADH, March 31, 2025 – The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its support for the formation of a new Syrian government, hoping it will meet the aspirations of the Syrian people, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.


The statement reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to collaborating with the new government, strengthening bilateral ties, and enhancing cooperation across all sectors.


The ministry also extended its best wishes to the new government in achieving security, stability, and prosperity.


Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa announced a transitional government on Saturday, appointing 23 ministers in a broader cabinet. This move is seen as a significant step in transitioning from decades of Assad family rule and improving Syria's relations with the West.


The UAE and Jordan also welcomed the formation of the new Syrian government, both countries emphasizing their support for the Syrian people's aspirations for stability, security, and prosperity.


In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that the new government would meet the needs of the transitional phase and offered its best wishes for success, as reported by the Emirates News Agency.


The UAE also reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors for mutual benefit.


Similarly, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs expressed hope that the new government would fulfill the Syrian people's desires for freedom, equality, and peace, as reported by the Jordan News Agency.


Ambassador Sufian Qudah, spokesperson for Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the country’s dedication to deepening cooperation with Syria, highlighting the historical and strategic ties between the two nations.


Qudah also stressed the importance of fostering relations based on mutual respect and trust, addressing key issues in a way that benefits both countries, and reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Syria’s reconstruction efforts to ensure its stability, security, and unity.
