
Riyadh, February 15, 2025 – A distinguished cultural and social event was held yesterday to introduce the Prince Mohammad bin Salman Award for Cultural Cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China. The initiative, supported by Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties with China. The event was also attended by Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muaammar, along with prominent cultural figures and officials from both nations.
During the gathering, organizers outlined the award’s objectives, categories, and diverse prizes, as well as its knowledge initiatives designed to foster deeper cultural collaboration. Discussions also highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and China, emphasizing their longstanding relationship and the potential for expanded cooperation in the cultural sector.In his keynote address, bin Muaammar emphasized the significance of the award, named after His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and overseen by the Ministry of Culture. He described the Saudi-Chinese relationship as a model of cultural engagement, bringing both nations closer and enriching their exchange across various disciplines.
He further noted that Saudi Vision 2030, with its focus on cultural openness and international partnerships, aligns with China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which promotes global integration and cooperation.The Prince Mohammad bin Salman Award for Cultural Cooperation represents a pivotal step in reinforcing bilateral cultural dialogue and fostering intellectual and artistic exchanges.
