Saudi Arabia and Finland sign ICT memorandum of understanding (MoU)

Riyadh, October 24, 2023, Saudi Arabia and Finland have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). The aim of this agreement is to bolster their strategic partnership, focusing on advancing the digital economy and facilitating the exchange of experiences.


The MoU was formally signed at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) office in Riyadh. Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mr. Ville Tavio, the Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development, were the signatories.


The collaboration outlined in the agreement will encompass a range of areas, including emerging technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, cutting-edge wireless network technologies, digital capacity development, and governmental digital transformation. It is set to encompass joint programs, capacity building, collaborative research projects related to technology foresight, and enhanced coordination among private sectors in both Saudi Arabia and Finland.
