Saudi Arabia's representatives led a meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
The member states discussed important international topics such as Iran's nuclear program and nuclear energy security in Ukraine.
Saudi Arabia has been a member of the Board of Governors since September 2022.
Vienna on June 9, 2024. Leading a conference of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the United Nations were Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, the Saudi Ambassador to Austria, and Dr. Abdullah Tawlah, the Kingdom's Governor to the agency.. The Prince of Saudi Arabia attended the meeting. The member states discussed a range of significant international topics, including the latest developments concerning Iran's nuclear program and the security and assurances of nuclear energy in Ukraine. Since September 2022, the Kingdom has been serving as a member of the Board of Governors, which is one of the agency's most important policy-making groups. The Board of Governors consists of 35 individuals.
