Jeddah, March 24, 2025, Saudi Social Responsibility Day, observed annually on March 23, serves as a platform to promote awareness among individuals, companies, and society about the significance of social responsibility in community development and sustainable growth. It also aims to enhance corporate engagement in fostering a culture of responsibility, contributing to societal, economic, and environmental progress. Specialized associations and relevant entities organize awareness events and forums across various regions to promote the concept, improve practices, and strengthen corporate social responsibility.

Designated by the Cabinet as Saudi Social Responsibility Day, this occasion focuses on discussing key issues, reviewing scientific research and studies, and unifying efforts in social responsibility. It also showcases private sector experiences and partnerships with the non-profit sector to advance social responsibility. The day highlights the collaboration between government institutions, national companies, and individuals, reinforcing the values of citizenship, generosity, and social solidarity while driving comprehensive national development.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the percentage of major companies implementing social responsibility programs increased from 30% in 2019 to 65% by the end of 2023. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has advanced in global rankings, securing 16th place in the 'Social Responsibility' domain of the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking for 2024, compared to 41st place in 2021. The Kingdom aims to be a global leader in this field by 2030.

The ministry seeks to empower decision-makers in the private sector, government representatives, development organizations, and social responsibility experts by fostering dialogue, addressing challenges, and exploring growth opportunities. These efforts aim to stimulate innovation, shape the future of global social responsibility, promote excellence and competitiveness, and facilitate collaboration between the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

A major milestone in this endeavor is the launch of the National Social Responsibility Platform, leveraging technology to enhance corporate social responsibility in the private sector. The platform plays a crucial role in measuring impact, aligning objectives across sectors, and driving social, economic, and environmental development—core priorities under Vision 2030.

Key features of the platform include a company classification program, an index for measuring private sector social responsibility practices, and a hub showcasing related events and initiatives. It also provides a database of experts, highlights leading companies in the field, and offers a development map outlining regional opportunities. The platform integrates social responsibility into business operations, expands private sector participation in sustainable development, and sets a global model for public-private partnerships.
