Riyadh, November 19, 2024 – The foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and China held the second round of political consultations in Riyadh on Monday, reflecting the ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations. The meeting was co-chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed El-Khereiji, and China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deng Li, who led their respective delegations in a series of constructive discussions.
The consultations provided an opportunity for both sides to explore avenues for the further development of bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing joint coordination to meet the strategic aspirations of both countries. Topics covered included key areas of mutual interest, such as economic cooperation, trade, cultural exchange, and regional security issues, which are central to the partnership between Saudi Arabia and China.

Attending the meeting alongside the vice ministers were Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to China, Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, and Nasser Al-Ghanoum, Director of the Department of Asian Countries at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their participation underscored the high-level engagement between the two countries and their shared commitment to furthering diplomatic relations in multiple spheres.
