New Delhi, February 19, 2024, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia successfully concluded its role as the guest of honor at the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) on February 18. The Saudi pavilion, a focal point of the fair held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 10 to 18, garnered significant attention and engaged a large audience.
Led by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, the Saudi pavilion provided visitors with an immersive experience into Saudi culture, arts, and heritage. The participation of various Saudi entities, including the Heritage Commission, Music Commission, Film Commission, Culinary Arts Commission, Fashion Commission, and King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), enriched the offerings of the pavilion. This collaborative effort played a crucial role in fostering intercultural dialogue and showcasing Saudi knowledge and cultural aspects to the Indian public.
A cultural program, featuring 13 seminars, highlighted the impact of Saudi culture on Indian culture and facilitated discussions on potential collaborations in publishing, cinema, and translation.
The pavilion showcased Saudi fashion, musical instruments, books on the Kingdom's regions, nature, heritage, and traditions, along with reproductions of ancient artifacts discovered on Saudi soil, providing a vivid representation of the nation's rich cultural heritage.
The Kingdom's participation in the New Delhi World Book Fair aligns with the Ministry of Culture's commitment to promoting cultural exchange, a key objective of the National Strategy for Culture and the Saudi Vision 2030. This international engagement reinforces Saudi Arabia's dedication to sharing its cultural wealth and fostering mutual understanding between nations.
