Riyadh, October 01, 2023, The burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in Malmo, Sweden, an act that was carried out with the knowledge of local authorities, was strongly condemned and denounced by Saudi Arabia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom's opposition to such egregious acts, which are routinely committed in several European cities under the cover of freedom of expression and incite the fury of millions of Muslims worldwide. According to the ministry, the Kingdom urges the Swedish government to take immediate action against such crimes and to stop allowing radical organizations to commit crimes that promote bigotry and intolerance.
