Riyadh, January 09, 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned and rejected the recent claims made by Israel regarding a map published by official accounts affiliated with the Israeli government. The map in question falsely portrays parts of neighboring Arab countries—specifically Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria—as being within Israel's alleged borders, an assertion that has sparked widespread outrage in the region and beyond.
The Kingdom’s statement underscores its firm stance against what it described as “extremist claims” that aim to further entrench Israel's occupation and undermine the sovereignty of neighboring Arab states. By attempting to redraw regional boundaries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, Israel is not only violating the principles of international law but also continuing its blatant and unlawful assaults on the territorial integrity of these countries. The map’s publication reflects an alarming disregard for the established borders of sovereign states, further exacerbating tensions in an already volatile region.
Saudi Arabia's condemnation is part of its broader commitment to regional stability and its ongoing efforts to support the rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the broader Arab world. In its response, the Kingdom reiterated its unwavering support for international legal norms and standards, calling on the global community to take immediate and decisive action to halt Israeli violations and ensure the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region.
The Kingdom also highlighted the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its responsibility in holding Israel accountable for its actions, stressing that such provocations only serve to escalate regional crises. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed that any attempt to alter or undermine the internationally recognized borders of sovereign states must be categorically rejected. It also reiterated that respecting these borders is critical not only for regional peace and security but also for the realization of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
In line with its long-standing position, Saudi Arabia emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive and just peace based on international law, the establishment of a viable Palestinian state, and the recognition of the legitimate rights of all peoples in the region. The Kingdom called for concerted efforts to address the root causes of conflict and to prevent further provocations that could hinder progress toward a lasting peace agreement.
Saudi Arabia’s firm stance comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high, with unresolved conflicts and regional instability continuing to affect the broader geopolitical landscape. The Kingdom’s rejection of Israel's territorial claims highlights its ongoing role as a key player in advocating for justice, sovereignty, and peace across the Arab world and the wider international community.
By publicly denouncing these false claims, Saudi Arabia once again underscores its commitment to the principles of respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rights of nations to live in peace without external interference.
