Saudi Arabia denounces the Israeli military's burning of a hospital in Gaza.

The Arab Parliament condemned the Israeli destruction of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, calling it a "new crime against humanity" and a violation of international law.

Cairo, December 28, 2024 — The Arab Parliament has issued a forceful condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces' recent destruction of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. In a statement released on December 27, 2024, the Parliament described this act as a "new crime against humanity," exacerbating the ongoing series of war crimes being committed by Israel against the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The Arab Parliament expressed deep concern over the forced evacuation of both patients and medical staff from the hospital, underscoring that such actions represent a grave violation of international humanitarian law and all recognized global legal norms. These developments, the Parliament noted, are not isolated but part of a systematic campaign to dismantle the already fragile health infrastructure in Gaza, which has been exacerbated by the continuous Israeli occupation. The statement emphasized that this deliberate destruction of vital medical facilities in Gaza is a direct result of the international community’s failure to respond effectively to the ongoing crisis.

In its statement, the Arab Parliament criticized the “shameful international silence” that has allowed these atrocities to continue unabated. The Parliament called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill their moral, political, and legal responsibilities by urgently intervening to halt these crimes. It further urged the immediate imposition of a ceasefire in Gaza to prevent further bloodshed and called for the prosecution and accountability of those responsible for these war crimes.

The Arab Parliament's condemnation highlights the growing frustration within the region over the lack of accountability for actions that continue to devastate the Palestinian people. As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, the Arab Parliament reiterated its call for the international community to take swift and decisive action to stop the Israeli occupation forces' attacks on civilians and to work towards a lasting peace that guarantees justice and security for the Palestinian people.

This latest escalation serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for a comprehensive international response to the ongoing violations of Palestinian rights and the broader threat posed to peace and stability in the region.
