Saudi Arabia engaged in the 9th GCC Anti-Corruption Ministerial Committee meeting

Muscat, October 29, 2023, In a notable event, Saudi Arabia actively participated in the ninth meeting of the Anti-Corruption Ministerial Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Leading the delegation was Mazen bin Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Kahmous, the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority.


The core agenda of the meeting revolved around upholding integrity and the relentless fight against corruption. This included discussions on the GCC's potential accession to the UN Convention against Corruption, endorsing Saudi Arabia's draft resolution for the global corruption measurement index, slated for the 10th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption in the United States this year. Additionally, the significance of the "Riyadh Initiative for Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobeE Network)" was highlighted.


The gathering also encompassed a thorough review of the programs, projects, and guidelines resulting from the meetings of committees dedicated to the preservation of integrity and the battle against corruption.


On the sidelines of the event, distinguished personnel from the integrity and anti-corruption agencies in GCC countries for the year 2022 were recognized and honored.
