Jeddah, February 25, 2025 – The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has officially unveiled its ambitious aviation industries cluster at the Modon Oasis in Jeddah. Spanning an expansive 1.2 million square meters, this major initiative is designed to bolster the Kingdom’s aviation sector and reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a global hub for advanced technology and industrial innovation.

The aviation cluster, a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), is a key component of the country's Vision 2030 economic diversification plans. The initiative aims to localize cutting-edge aviation technologies, enhance supply chains, and promote self-sufficiency in the sector. This will not only strengthen the Kingdom’s capabilities in aviation manufacturing but also position it as a leading player in the global aviation market.

Located strategically near two key logistical hubs – King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah Islamic Port – the cluster offers a unique and attractive investment environment for local and international aviation industry players. The proximity to these vital transportation hubs is expected to drive increased efficiency in the movement of goods and materials, providing a seamless connection between manufacturing operations and global supply chains.

The Modon Oasis aviation cluster will feature state-of-the-art facilities and well-prepared factories with flexible spaces designed to accommodate a wide range of aviation industry needs. These spaces will cater to businesses engaged in manufacturing, research and development, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, among others. The cluster is also poised to foster collaboration between companies in the sector, creating an ecosystem of innovation that will drive the growth of advanced technologies within the aviation industry.

This new venture marks a significant step forward in Saudi Arabia's efforts to enhance its industrial and technological capacities, aligning with broader goals to diversify its economy, create jobs, and attract foreign investment. By establishing the aviation cluster, Saudi Arabia is taking concrete actions to localize high-tech industries and accelerate its growth as a leader in the aviation sector. As the cluster takes shape, it is expected to catalyze advancements in the field, supporting the Kingdom’s long-term goals of becoming a global center for aviation excellence.
