Riyadh, September 04, 2023, The announcement of the creation of the Global Water Organization by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an initiative that symbolizes the excellent efforts of the Kingdom, according to Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Following the Declaration by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, about the foundation by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the Global Water Organization with its headquarters in Riyadh, the GCC Secretary General made his observations. The organization aspires to strengthen and unify the efforts of nations and organizations in completely solving water concerns. Albudaiwi continued by pointing out that by overcoming water-related obstacles globally, the Kingdom is demonstrating its dedication to environmental sustainability and confirming its vital role in addressing water concerns globally. He praised the Kingdom's prior initiatives to coordinate responses to concerns brought on by climate change, notably its effects on water supplies.
The Global Water Organization's objectives revolve around the exchange and enhancement of technical expertise, innovation, research, and development. Additionally, they enable the introduction of priority qualitative projects and facilitate their financing, in an effort to ensure the sustainability of water. The GCC Secretary General emphasized that these objectives would serve as a valuable tool in addressing water-related obstacles at the international level.
