Saudi Arabia faces upcoming inclement weather per National Center for Meteorology

Riyadh, April 29, 2024, According to the latest update from the National Center for Meteorology, several regions in Saudi Arabia are expected to experience inclement weather conditions in the coming days.

Strong dust-stirring winds are forecasted to sweep across various areas, including Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region. These winds could lead to reduced visibility and dusty conditions in affected areas.

Moreover, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by hail in some of these regions, adding to the weather dynamics expected in the mentioned areas.

Regarding maritime conditions, winds over the Red Sea are anticipated to blow southwesterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 20 to 40 km/h in the northern and central parts. In the southern part of the Red Sea, winds will be southeasterly to southwesterly, with speeds of 15 to 50 km/h. These conditions may lead to waves reaching heights between one to two and a half meters, resulting in sea conditions ranging from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds are forecasted to be southeasterly with speeds of 20 to 50 km/h in the northern part and northeasterly with speeds of 15 to 35 km/h in the southern part. Wave heights in the Gulf may range from half a meter to two and a half meters, with sea conditions ranging from calm to choppy.

Residents and travelers in these regions are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety and minimize risks associated with the expected weather conditions, especially while traveling or engaging in maritime activities.
