Manama, January 31, 2024, Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia actively participated in the third General Assembly meeting of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) in Manama, chaired by Bahrain. The assembly brought together representatives from the organization's 16 member states, including Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and DCO Secretary-General Deemah Al-Yahya. The event also saw the presence of high-level delegations from partner members and observers.
During the meeting, Engineer Al-Swaha underscored the Kingdom's commitment to supporting the organization's objectives, highlighting two recently launched initiatives: the Government Digital Solutions Market and the Sustainability Guide for the Information and Communications Technology Sector, both falling under the umbrella of the Athar program.
In a significant announcement, Minister Al-Swaha revealed the initiation of a new endeavor named "Generative AI for All," operating under the purview of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE).
Al-Swaha showcased the innovative contributions of Saudi entrepreneurs and trailblazers affiliated with "The Garage" business accelerator and the GAIA Business Accelerator. He emphasized their role in supporting various initiatives within the digital cooperation organization.
The minister stressed the significance of collaborative efforts among member states to harness digital technologies optimally. This collaborative approach aims to contribute to the development of countries and their populations, fostering digital prosperity for all through the strategic use of digital technologies.
