Abdullah AlMubadal from the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), has been selected to join the International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience, highlighting the Kingdom’s leadership in enhancing the security of global telecommunications infrastructure.

Riyadh, November 30, 2024 — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman AlMubadal, Deputy Governor for the Telecom Sector at the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), has been selected to join the prestigious International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience. This appointment highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership role and expertise in the global telecommunications sector, particularly in enhancing the security and resilience of submarine cable infrastructure, a critical component of the world’s communications network.


The International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience was established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC). Its primary objective is to set strategic guidelines and develop policies that address the many challenges faced by submarine cable systems. The body works to promote global best practices for protecting these vital infrastructure systems, which are fundamental to international data transmission and the functioning of global communications.
