Riyadh, December 01, 2024 – The government of Saudi Arabia launched 46 specialized training programs today at the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in Riyadh, aimed at empowering personnel from coalition member states in their fight against terrorism. The training programs are designed to enhance competencies in several critical areas, including intellectual, media, financial, and military fields, with the goal of reinforcing global efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms.

This initiative aligns with the directives of Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council of Defense Ministers of the IMCTC. The directive was originally given during the second meeting of the coalition’s defense ministers in February. Prince Khalid’s leadership continues to be pivotal in advancing the coalition’s efforts to combat extremist ideologies and terrorism globally, with a specific focus on the integration of intellectual, media, and military strategies to address the complex and multifaceted challenges posed by terrorism.

Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, the Secretary General of IMCTC, expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government for launching this initiative, which underscores the Kingdom's commitment to supporting both regional and international cooperation in the global fight against terrorism. Al-Moghedi highlighted that these training programs will provide critical skills and knowledge, enhancing the capabilities of member states and empowering them to tackle terrorism more effectively. He emphasized that the programs will play a crucial role in strengthening global and regional security by equipping personnel with the expertise needed to address the evolving threat of terrorism.

The launch of these programs represents a significant milestone in the IMCTC’s mission to provide member states with the tools necessary to combat terrorism comprehensively. The Kingdom’s continued leadership in this arena demonstrates its steadfast commitment to fostering international cooperation and ensuring stability and security, both regionally and globally. With the programs tailored to meet the specific needs of each member state, they are expected to contribute significantly to the ongoing efforts to counter extremism, promote peace, and uphold the principles of justice and security across the globe.
