On October 13, 2024, a Saudi delegation led by Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), participated in the 10th Meeting of the Anti-Corruption Ministerial Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in Doha, Qatar. This significant gathering brought together representatives from GCC member states to discuss strategies and initiatives aimed at combatting corruption in the region.
In his address, Al-Kahmous expressed the Kingdom's gratitude to Qatar, particularly the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, for successfully chairing and organizing the meeting. He also acknowledged the General Secretariat of the GCC for its dedication and efforts to ensure the effectiveness of the committee's work throughout the year.
During the meeting, Al-Kahmous emphasized the vital need for enhanced coordination and collaboration among GCC countries in the fight against cross-border corruption crimes. He reiterated the importance of these efforts in alignment with the objectives set forth by the leaders of the GCC.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics related to integrity protection and anti-corruption initiatives, including an evaluation of the outcomes from specialized committee meetings. These discussions focused on various programs, projects, and guidelines aimed at strengthening anti-corruption measures across the GCC.
Additionally, the meeting featured a special recognition segment where employees from relevant entities across GCC countries were honored for their achievements in the first competition for research and studies in integrity protection and anti-corruption for the year 2024. This acknowledgment highlights the commitment of GCC nations to promote integrity and uphold anti-corruption standards.
