Amman, July 25, 2023, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has chosen to partake in the 37th iteration of the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts, an esteemed event taking place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This festival, set to occur in the historic city of Jerash, will span from July 26 to August 5 and will feature the involvement of numerous Arab artists and performing groups. The Kingdom is characterized by the presence of three cultural commissions that serve as representatives of its rich cultural heritage and traditions. These commissions will showcase the diverse aspects of Saudi culture at the renowned festival, incorporating captivating folklore dances and mesmerizing performing arts. The Theater and Performing Arts Commission has organized the participation of three teams in the upcoming festival, which will take place from July 27 to 30. These teams will showcase various forms of folklore arts, providing a glimpse into the rich and diverse cultural traditions of the Kingdom. The performances will encompass the captivating art forms of Samri, Al-Dahha, and Al-Khutwah, each representing distinct aspects of the Kingdom's cultural heritage. In conjunction with the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir, a group of women affiliated with the commission will be engaging in a captivating display of cultural expression through the performance of the traditional dances of Samri and Al-Khutwah at the festival. Furthermore, three skilled practitioners of the Hakawati art form will also be participating, adding an additional layer of artistic richness to the event. The annual festival is an important event for the Kingdom, as it aligns with the Ministry of Culture's endeavors to showcase and preserve Saudi cultural heritage. This initiative aims to foster cultural connections and collaborations with other nations in line with the goals outlined in the Saudi Vision 2030.
