Saudi Arabia Provides Pilgrims with Comprehensive Healthcare in Advance of a Healthy Hajj Season

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has finalized plans to provide comprehensive medical services to pilgrims arriving for the Hajj pilgrimage.

- The Ministry of Health has completed the plans to provide full medical services for the arrival of pilgrims for the Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


– To prepare and communicate health needs and guidelines among wayfarers, taking into consideration the most recent epidemiological data locally available and global health law was done.


- Preparations include enhanced surveillance, 24/7 resources and manning at admission points, distribution of medical supplies, and the availability of isolation rooms and ambulances for contagious diseases.



On June 7th, Riyadh In preparation for the Hajj 1445 pilgrimage, the Ministry of Health has finalized plans to provide comprehensive medical services to pilgrims who arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through 14 different entrance ports, including those on land, sea, and air. The Ministry of Health developed and distributed health requirements and instructions for pilgrims as part of the preliminary preparations. These were in accordance with the most recent epidemiological data from both the local and global levels, as well as international health legislation. Early preparation activities included enhancing surveillance at health monitoring centers, providing admission points with 24/7 resources and manning, and distributing medical supplies, vaccines, and preventive drugs.


We have prepared isolation rooms and ambulances for cases that may involve contagious diseases, and we are ready to transport patients in need of emergency medical care to hospitals for specialist care. When pilgrims arrive, the government places a strong emphasis on providing them and their companions with health education. Bilingual educational programs initiate campaigns at key access points to spread awareness. Health services for pilgrims are available at the following locations: Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Prince Abdul Mohsin bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, Taif International Airport, and various land border crossings.
