ABHA — In the final round of qualifying in Group 10, the Saudi Arabian U-23 national football team defeated Cambodia with a score of 6-1, securing their place at the Qatar-hosted Asian Cup in 2024. Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Stadium in Abha served as the venue for the game.
The Saudi team recovered from an early disadvantage against Cambodia, falling behind by one goal, to win convincingly, 6-1. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, who scored both the equalizer and the winning goal, was crucial. Prior to the completion of the first half, Musab Al-Juwayr and Abdullah Radif both scored goals for the Saudi team.
In the second half, the Saudi U-23 team continued to score goals under the direction of national coach Saad Al-Shehri. Mohammed Abu Al-Shammat added a sixth goal to complete the victory after Abdullah Radif scored the fifth goal to complete his hat trick.
After winning the previous Asian Cup, the Saudi U-23 team is defending its title. They are now guaranteed a spot in the illustrious competition that will be held in Doha.
