Riyadh, September 17, 2023, The performance of Saudi Arabia's domestic and international airports was the subject of the General Authority of Civil Aviation's (GACA) August report. There are 14 fundamental performance measuring criteria that are used to evaluate airports. The evaluation takes place while the Kingdom's strategic directions for improving airport services and traveler experiences are put into action. The survey ranked the top airports as King Fahd International Airport (KFIA), King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA), Abha International Airport, Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport in Qassim, and Gurayat Domestic Airport.
The GACA separates airport performance into five categories to ensure impartiality in assessing airport performance.
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah came in first among international airports with more than 15 million passengers yearly, with a compliance rate of 91%, followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with 82%.
KFIA outperformed Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in terms of the average waiting time for arriving and departing flights, and both airports placed first in the category of international airports with five to fifteen million passengers annually. KFIA had a compliance rate of 82%.
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan came in second with an 82% compliance rate, and Abha International Airport took the first spot among international airports with two to five million passengers annually.
Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport outperformed competitors in terms of the overall average waiting time for departing and arriving flights, achieving a 100% compliance rate in the category of international airports with fewer than two million passengers.
With a compliance score of 100%, Gurayat Domestic Airport outperformed competitors in terms of the overall average waiting time for departing and incoming planes.
