Saudi Arabia's GACA successfully concludes Wings India 2024 exhibition participation

Hyderabad, January 21, 2024, Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), has successfully concluded its participation in the Wings India 2024 exhibition conference. The event, organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Republic of India in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), took place from January 18 to 21, 2024, at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad. The conference saw the presence of leaders and heads of civil aviation organizations and bodies worldwide.

During Saudi Arabia's participation, a delegation led by the President of GACA, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, underscored the pivotal role of the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom's national economy. Emphasis was placed on the promising investment opportunities offered by the sector, aligning with the objectives of the Saudi Aviation Strategy. This strategy aims to position Saudi Arabia as a key player in civil aviation in the Middle East, with goals that include doubling passenger capacity to 330 million annually, serving over 250 destinations worldwide, and increasing cargo capacity to 5.4 million tons.

On the sidelines of the conference, President Al-Duailej participated in a ministerial session with global leaders in civil aviation, discussing the role of the national aviation strategy in supporting economic development in Saudi Arabia. The session also explored opportunities for global investors in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, with the aim of making Saudi Arabia a regional aviation hub and a global logistics platform connecting three continents.

Key meetings took place during the conference, including discussions with the Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel of the Republic of India, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Minister of Infrastructure of Sweden, Mr. Johan Davidsson, and the Minister of Civil Aviation of Cambodia, Mr. Mao Havanal. These discussions covered topics of mutual interest and resulted in the signing of a record of consultations between Saudi Arabia and Cambodia.

Eng Imtiaz Muhammad Manzari, the Director General of General Aviation, participated in a dialogue session on "The Helicopter Industry," highlighting the potential and prospects of helicopters and emphasizing the importance of developing new and efficient modes of transportation.

GACA's participation aimed to strengthen relationships with international airlines and stakeholders, foster an investor-friendly environment, promote the development of new routes, and introduce promising opportunities in the Saudi aviation sector. The conference covered the latest trends, innovations, and solutions in the aviation industry, with a focus on air mobility, sustainability, and advanced technologies.

The Wings India 2024 conference and exhibition, attended by over 5,000 participants, including civil aviation authorities, airlines, and industry professionals, showcased advanced air transport solutions and highlighted the potential to transform civil aviation and open new markets for air travel in the coming decades. The event received approximately 100,000 visitors, solidifying its reputation as one of the most significant aviation exhibitions and conferences in Asia.
