In alignment with Saudi Arabia's commitment to global humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continues to provide extensive relief to the Palestinians affected in the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's steadfast support for those in need worldwide.
Following the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, KSrelief launched a fundraising campaign through the "Sahem" platform on November 2, amassing significant donations. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques contributed SAR30 million, the Crown Prince contributed SAR20 million, and public donations exceeded SAR544.7 million, with over one million donors participating.
In response to the crisis, KSrelief executed a substantial airlift to El Arish International Airport in Egypt, delivering 24 relief planes carrying 573 tons of essential supplies, including food baskets, shelter materials, winter clothing, medical items, and ambulances. Additionally, three ships set sail from Jeddah Islamic Port to Port Said Port in Egypt, carrying 401 containers with medical supplies, foodstuffs, and shelter materials destined for the Gaza Strip.
KSrelief further solidified its commitment by signing cooperation agreements totaling SAR150 million with prominent organizations such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the World Food Programme (WFP). These agreements aim to provide comprehensive relief, including food distribution, medical care, sanitation, and support for displaced Palestinians in Gaza.
These extensive efforts by KSrelief underscore Saudi Arabia's enduring dedication to assisting the people of the Gaza Strip during challenging times, reflecting the nation's historical role in providing crucial support during humanitarian crises.
