Saudi Arabia's National Center of Meteorology forecasts diverse regional weather

Riyadh, March 16, 2024, According to today's weather report by the National Center of Meteorology, several regions in Saudi Arabia can expect varying weather conditions throughout the day.

In the Jazan and Asir regions, moderate to heavy thunderstorms are forecasted, accompanied by strong winds, hail showers, and torrential rains. Similarly, parts of Al-Baha, Makkah, the Eastern Region, and the southern areas of Riyadh Region will experience thunderstorms with gusty winds stirring up dust.

Coastal areas of the Eastern Region, Qassim, Northern Border (Turaif), and Al-Jawf (Al-Qurayyat) are likely to experience fog formation. Moreover, temperatures are expected to drop in parts of the Northern Border, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Hail, and Qassim regions.

Surface winds in the Red Sea are anticipated to move from a northerly to northwesterly direction at speeds ranging from 15-35 km/h in the northern and central areas. In the southern Red Sea, winds will shift from southeasterly to southwesterly at speeds of 15-35 km/h, potentially reaching up to 50 km/h.

Similarly, in the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will move from southeasterly to northeasterly directions at speeds of 15-35 km/h, with some areas experiencing speeds of up to 50 km/h.
