Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: The national flag airline of Saudi Arabia, SAUDIA Group, is continuing to carry out its operational plan for 2023 by increasing its seating capacity by 40% on popular routes in order to grow its worldwide footprint and market share. The ambitious strategy seeks to boost Saudi Arabia's tourism, Hajj, and Umrah industries while also broadening SAUDIA's network and fostering connections between foreign tourists and the Kingdom. The plan also calls for increasing the number of domestic flights and the number of seats. Over 25.3 million seats, an increase of 40% from 2022, will be available on foreign flights through SAUDIA in 2023 on nearly 90,000 flights. Similar to this, the number of domestic flight seats for 2023 has been increased by over 500,000, bringing the total number of domestic flight seats to over 17.8 million. The company's operations and flight schedule are being updated to better serve customers and provide more convenient flying times throughout the year, especially during peak demand seasons.
The CEO of SAUDIA, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, stated: "We intend to build on SAUDIA's operational success from the previous year with a strategy plan that further strengthens SAUDIA's reputation for satisfying our guests' demands and delivering performance excellence. On already well-traveled routes, demand has been steadily rising since the start of the year. SAUDIA is able to provide customers with more flexibility and better manage its operational requirements in light of the substantial problems the aviation sector is now facing by increasing capacity and improving flight schedules.
A number of brand-new vehicles have been added to SAUDIA's fleet as part of its operational plan. In 2023, SAUDIA's fleet will expand to include new Boeing B787 Dreamliners with 24 business class seats and 333 economy class seats, as well as the most recent Airbus A321NX aircraft with 20 business class seats and 168 economy class seats. SAUDIA also keeps putting plans and systems in place that enable it to maintain operating effectiveness while ensuring the highest safety and quality requirements.
