March 31, 2025 – Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has urged Muslims across the Kingdom to observe the crescent moon on Saturday evening.

This will help determine whether Eid al-Fitr falls on Sunday, March 30, 2025, or if Ramadan will be extended by another day.

In an official statement, the Supreme Court invited anyone who spots the moon—whether by the naked eye or with binoculars—to report their sighting to the nearest court and register their testimony.

Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important Islamic holidays.

Islamic months generally last either 29 or 30 days. Since Ramadan began on March 1, Shawwal is expected to start on either March 30 or 31.
