Saudi Arabia Shines on International Tourism Stage

Saudi Arabia, the fastest-growing destination in the world, is garnering attention from major international tourism and travel media platforms in the US, UK, and France. The renowned Condé Nast magazine has included the Red Sea destination in its list of 24 must-visit international tourist destinations for 2024. This recognition solidifies the Kingdom's position on the global tourism map and showcases its commitment to sustainability, environmental conservation, and renewable energy.

Condé Nast specifically highlighted the ambitious Red Sea project, which encompasses 90 islands, with 22 developed and nine designated as nature reserves. The project aims to preserve 30% of the environment through the conservation of coral reefs, mangroves, and the marine ecosystem. It emphasizes comprehensive sustainability plans, including adaptable architectural structures, innovative designs, effective waste management systems, and the use of local materials. The magazine also highlighted upcoming luxury resort projects such as Six Senses Southern Dunes, Nujuma Ritz Carlton, and the St. Regis Red Sea.

In addition, the esteemed US magazine Travel + Leisure featured the historical city of AlUla among its 50 recommended tourist destinations for 2024. The magazine provided a detailed report on the city's historical background, major attractions, hotels, and captivating tourist experiences.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia further received global recognition from the British magazine Wanderlust, winning the Gold Award for the 'Most Attractive Modern Destinations for Tourists' in 2023. This esteemed accolade was based on the votes of over 90,000 readers.

The US Bloomberg Network highlighted Saudi Arabia as a talent incubator, specifically mentioning new projects in AlUla, such as the restaurant of chef Jason Atherton and the hosting of the Museum of 'Fame' by artist Andy Warhol.

The French magazine Le Figaro and its weekly supplement Madame Figaro covered intriguing topics catering to French travelers interested in history, culture, and authenticity. These included detailed reports on the Edge of the World Cliff in Riyadh, the history of AlUla, the beaches of the Red Sea, and Jeddah.

These achievements demonstrate the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to enhance its global tourism status and showcase its exceptional tourist destinations to targeted international markets. The Saudi Commission for Tourism continues to shed light on the unique offerings of the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia through various media outlets.
