The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with private sector partners, is actively participating in the Egypt Defense Expo 2023 (EDEX), a prominent international exhibition focused on defense and military industries.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, along with military industry officials and investors, attended the opening ceremony, where GAMI highlighted the cutting-edge capabilities and offerings of national entities such as the Saudi Military Industries Company (SAMI) and the Saudi Chemical Holding Company. These companies are unveiling the latest advancements in the military industry, emphasizing their commitment to development and the utilization of local capabilities that meet practical sector requirements.
The exhibited advancements reflect the rapid growth of the military industry sector, aiming to attract high-quality investments that contribute to building a robust military economy and ensuring industry sustainability. GAMI Governor Ahmad Al-Ohali expressed confidence that Saudi Arabia's participation would draw influential players, showcasing the favorable investment climate in the military industry sector.
The strategic objective of the Kingdom's military industry system, led by GAMI and its partners from the public and private sectors, is to encourage international cooperation with major global companies. The goal is to offer investment opportunities and facilitate partnerships between local and international counterparts, ultimately working towards spending over 50% on military equipment and services within the Kingdom by 2030.
