Saudi Arabia showcases tourism at World Travel Market in London

London, November 06, 2023, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, widely recognized as the world's fastest-growing tourism destination, is once again participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) held in London from November 6 to 9. This engagement aims to promote tourism and showcase the country's diverse offerings to a global audience.

Over 75 representatives from key Saudi tourist destinations, including AlUla, Diriyah, Al Soudah, historic Jeddah, ministries, agencies, major international hotel chains, airlines, travel and tourism companies, tour operators, and "Nusuk" platform partners are partaking in the event. This figure represents a substantial 48% increase in participation compared to previous years.

The Saudi pavilion at WTM is designed to provide an interactive experience that reflects Saudi hospitality, culture, unique destinations, and inspiring experiences. It also highlights the nation's natural and climatic diversity. Within the pavilion, a media center will host esteemed leaders and officials, while a dedicated section will showcase innovative technical solutions and the unified government platform "Nusuk" designed to facilitate visits to Makkah and Madinah.

Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, expressed pride in Saudi tourism's strong presence at WTM, emphasizing its commitment to promoting destinations, offers, events, and sustainable tourism. He underscored the Kingdom's leadership role in the field of sustainable tourism and its contributions to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to providing new and high-quality experiences to its partners. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia's winter season is exceptionally rich, diverse, and popular, featuring over 11,000 events, activities, and experiences. He extended an invitation to the world to explore Saudi Arabia, savor its unique winter offerings, and partake in its impressive events.

The Kingdom's participation in WTM reflects the unwavering support of the wise leadership for the tourism sector and the concerted efforts of the Saudi tourism sector to solidify the country's standing on the global tourism stage and support the global tourism industry's growth.

In a testament to its dedication to the tourism sector, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has held the presidency of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) since 2022 and was re-elected to this role in October 2023. Additionally, it hosts the Middle East's first regional office for the World Tourism Organization.
