Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Jenin in the occupied West Bank, reiterating its opposition to Israel’s violations of international law and Palestinian rights.

Riyadh, January 23, 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned and denounced the recent attack launched by Israeli occupation forces on the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank. In a statement issued today, the Ministry expressed the Kingdom’s deep concern over the escalating violence and reaffirmed its steadfast position against Israel’s continued violations of international law and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Ministry called on the international community to take immediate and effective action to address the ongoing Israeli violations, urging global leaders and institutions to hold Israel accountable for its actions and prevent further aggression. Saudi Arabia emphasized the urgency of upholding international laws, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, which protects civilians in occupied territories, and other relevant treaties designed to safeguard human rights and ensure peace and security.

In its statement, the Kingdom warned that if these violations continue unchecked, they could lead to a resurgence of violence and chaos in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Ministry highlighted the grave risks posed to the security and safety of innocent civilians, particularly in Jenin and other Palestinian cities, where innocent lives are at risk due to the ongoing military actions. The attack on Jenin is part of a broader pattern of Israeli aggression, which, according to Saudi Arabia, threatens to destabilize the region and further undermine the fragile prospects for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Saudi Arabia’s call for urgent international intervention reflects its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and advocating for a just and lasting peace in the region. The Kingdom reiterated its firm belief in the importance of a two-state solution, based on the pre-1967 borders, as the only viable path to achieve peace between Israelis and Palestinians. It urged the international community to intensify efforts to end the Israeli occupation and ensure the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also underscored the Kingdom’s continued efforts to work with global partners and organizations to address the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, provide assistance to affected populations, and support initiatives aimed at achieving a fair and lasting peace. Saudi Arabia remains committed to its role in the Arab and Islamic world as a key advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people and for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Middle East.

As tensions continue to rise in the region, the Kingdom’s condemnation of the attack on Jenin serves as a reminder of the pressing need for a renewed international commitment to ending the cycle of violence and working towards a peaceful resolution to one of the most enduring conflicts of our time.
