Riyadh, February 5, 2025 — The Saudi Architecture and Design Commission has announced the selection of syn architects, an innovative architectural firm led by renowned architects Sara Alissa and Nojoud Alsudairi, to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the prestigious 19th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale. The exhibition, which will run from May 10 to November 23, 2025, will showcase the Kingdom’s rich architectural heritage while addressing some of the most pressing themes in contemporary design.

The Saudi pavilion at the Venice Biennale will explore Riyadh's architectural evolution, focusing on the themes of environment, identity, and urban transformation. In particular, the exhibition will examine the role of educational institutions in responding to the challenges posed by a rapidly changing world. It will offer a critical look at how architecture can play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cities and communities, particularly in regions undergoing significant transformation.

Accompanying the exhibition will be a program of architectural experiments and discussions aimed at fostering collaboration among designers, educators, and policymakers. These sessions will provide a platform for dialogue on the future of architecture in the region, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices for sustainable and innovative urban development.

As part of the exhibition, a comprehensive publication will be produced, documenting the project's vision and process. This publication will serve as a valuable resource for architects, academics, and enthusiasts, offering insights into the evolving landscape of Saudi Arabian architecture and its contributions to global design discourse.

The selection of syn architects for this esteemed platform underscores the Kingdom's commitment to fostering creative talent and advancing its architectural identity on the international stage. Through this exhibition, Saudi Arabia aims to not only highlight its architectural heritage but also position itself as a leading force in the future of global architecture.
