Saudi Arabia, Thailand Discuss Issues Pertaining to Food Security

The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Thailand in advancing sustainable food systems.
GFSA Governor Ahmed Al-Faris met with former Thai Deputy Prime Minister Don Pramudwinai to discuss food security issues.

On October 8, 2024, in Riyadh, Governor of the General Food Security Authority (GFSA), Ahmed Al-Faris, welcomed Don Pramudwinai, the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Pramudwinai, who currently serves as a member of the Board of Advisors for Berli Jucker Public Company Ltd (BJC) in Thailand, was in the Kingdom for discussions related to food security.


During the meeting, Al-Faris and Pramudwinai engaged in a comprehensive dialogue focused on food security challenges facing both nations. They explored enhanced means of cooperation and the potential for collaborative initiatives aimed at improving food security outcomes. The discussions included an exchange of expertise and experiences, highlighting best practices and innovative solutions that could be implemented to address food security concerns effectively.


Both officials recognized the importance of strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Thailand in the context of food security, emphasizing that such collaboration is vital for ensuring sustainable food systems in both countries.
