Riyadh, March 26, 2025 – The Saudi national team and Japan played to a goalless draw at Saitama Stadium 2002 in Japan during the eighth round of Group C in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while Australia secured a 2-0 win over China.


As a result, Saudi Arabia now holds 10 points, placing third in the group. Japan, having already qualified in the previous round, leads with 20 points, followed by Australia with 13. China remains at 6 points, the same as Bahrain and Indonesia, who will face off later today to conclude the round.


The top two teams from each group qualify directly for the World Cup, while the third and fourth-placed teams move to the fourth round, where two additional teams will earn qualification.
