Riyadh, November 24, 2024 – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of Saudi Arabia is set to organize the second edition of the Holy Quran Memorization Competition in Kathmandu, Nepal, scheduled for December 21-22, 2024. This prestigious event aims to promote the teachings and memorization of the Holy Quran among young Muslims across the globe, further reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to Islamic outreach and education.
The competition will bring together over 400 male and female contestants from various regions and governorates within Nepal, showcasing the dedication of the Nepali youth to preserving and honoring the sacred text. The participants will compete in preliminary qualifiers to test their proficiency in memorizing verses and chapters of the Holy Quran.
In line with its goal of spreading the teachings of Islam and fostering a deeper connection to the Quran, the event highlights Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in supporting educational initiatives and spiritual development worldwide. The competition is a significant aspect of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to engage with the global Muslim community.
The grand closing ceremony of the event, set to take place on December 23, 2024, will recognize the winners of the competition with a presentation of awards. Distinguished officials from various Islamic centers, schools, and institutions across Nepal will be in attendance to celebrate the accomplishments of the young Quranic scholars.
