Saudi Arabia to Showcase Leading Experiences in Urban Development at WUF12

Engagement and Collaboration: Saudi Arabia’s pavilion, covering over 3,000 square meters, will host more than 40 activities and 150 representatives from national entities, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among global stakeholders committed to improving urban living standards.
Showcasing Urban Development: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing will present Saudi Arabia’s urban development initiatives at the 12th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo, highlighting projects aligned with Vision 2030 aimed at creating sustainable urban communities.

Riyadh, November 4, 2024 — The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is set to prominently feature Saudi Arabia’s exemplary advancements in urban development at the 12th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), which commences today in Cairo. This prestigious gathering, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), runs from November 4 to 8 and will see participation from over 160 countries.


At WUF12, Saudi Arabia will unveil its ambitious initiatives aimed at transforming cities into comprehensive and sustainable urban communities. The Kingdom's pavilion will serve as a showcase for its innovative urban development projects aligned with Vision 2030, a blueprint designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Key highlights will include advancements in sustainable transportation networks, significant infrastructure improvements, and enhancements to municipal services across the nation.


The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing will emphasize its transition to smart municipal service platforms, notably the Balady app, which has revolutionized access to essential services. This digital platform plays a crucial role in elevating the quality of life for citizens by providing efficient, accessible solutions that cater to the needs of both residents and visitors.


Spanning more than 3,000 square meters, the Kingdom's pavilion at WUF12 will feature a dedicated area for meetings, workshops, and panel discussions, as well as signing platforms and a VIP area. This dynamic space is set to host more than 40 activities and welcome 150 representatives from various national entities, creating a hub for collaboration and knowledge exchange among global stakeholders.
