Saudi Arabia Wins Bid to Host 2026 International Association of Prosecutors Conference


Riyadh, October 3, 2024 — The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) has announced that Saudi Arabia has been selected to host its prestigious annual conference in 2026. This significant decision was made during the ongoing IAP conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, and highlights the Kingdom’s increasing prominence on the global stage. Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib expressed his pride in the Kingdom’s successful bid, stating that it marks a critical achievement in Saudi Arabia’s growing involvement in international organizations and demonstrates the nation’s commitment to strengthening its judicial and legal systems.


Sheikh Al-Mujib noted that the IAP’s decision to hold the conference in Saudi Arabia serves as a testament to the continuous development of the Saudi Public Prosecution, which has been advancing its international engagement and influence. This move underscores the Kingdom’s role in fostering international cooperation in the judicial field and promoting justice on a global scale. The 2026 conference is expected to provide an invaluable platform for the exchange of expertise, legal strategies, and innovative ideas among legal professionals and public prosecution offices from around the world. The Saudi Public Prosecution submitted its bid to host the event and secured a majority vote from the IAP’s Executive Committee, which is comprised of representatives from prosecution offices and legal entities around the world. The IAP is the largest organization of public prosecutors in the world, with over 170 members from public prosecution agencies and international criminal justice bodies.
