Riyadh, April 29, 2024, During the BWF General Assembly in Chengdu, China, the Saudi Badminton Federation received the prestigious "Gender Equality and Diversity Award" from Patama Leeswadtrakul, Deputy President of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and an IOC member. The award recognized the Saudi federation's outstanding achievements in various aspects of badminton development.
The Saudi Badminton Federation, represented by Chairman of the Board Mogren Al-Mogren, was commended for excelling in nine notable projects that showcased remarkable progress in badminton across multiple domains. These projects encompassed governance, employment, national coach and referee training, local and international championships, club-level initiatives, increasing male and female player participation, medal achievements, and community sports engagement.
Al-Mogren expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, attributing the success to the Saudi Badminton Federation's relentless efforts in spreading and enhancing the sport within the Kingdom. This achievement positioned Saudi Arabia as a leading nation in badminton promotion and player base expansion.
