The Saudi Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSF) has signed a contract with French coach Jean-Michel Mayor to lead the national federation. Mayor, with around 25 years of coaching experience, began his career coaching the Montpellier Barracudas youth groups before leading the first team for 15 years. He also served as the director of the Montpellier Baseball Academy for 18 years and played a key role in developing the French national youth team’s programs since 2002. Additionally, the Mayor has served as the manager of the France U-15 national team for the past nine years.
Established by the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee (SOPC) in December 2019, the SBSF aims to promote baseball and softball in Saudi society and build a competitive team capable of participating in continental and international competitions. The appointment of an experienced coach like Jean-Michel Mayor is expected to contribute to the development and success of the federation's programs.
