Saudi Border Guard evacuates Turkish sailor after head injury

Jeddah, September 04, 2023, According to Col. Misfer Al-Quraini, the Border Guard's official spokesman, the Saudi Border Guard successfully evacuated a female Turkish sailor aboard a ship in the Red Sea after she suffered a head injury. The Official Spokesman confirmed that this happened in response to a report for the Turkish sailor's urgent medical evacuation, that was received by the Jeddah Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (JMRCC). The patient was successfully removed off the ship and transported to Yanbu General Hospital, the spokesman said, reiterating that her status is stable.

In accordance with the 1979 International Convention on marine Search and Rescue, the Evacuation is a component of the humanitarian missions carried out by the Saudi Border Guard within the marine frontiers of the Kingdom.
