Saudi Camel Owners Shine at This Year's Camel Racing Federation Cup


Najran, October 05, 2024 – Saudi camel owners have demonstrated remarkable success at the fourth edition of the Saudi Camel Racing Federation Cup, held in Najran from October 1 to 5. As the competition progresses, Saudi Arabia has already secured a commanding lead with 10 cups, outperforming strong contenders from neighboring countries. The UAE has claimed five cups, while Qatar has managed to win one cup. This year’s edition of the prestigious camel racing event has seen Saudi camels dominate the overall standings, winning 71 out of 104 rounds held over the course of four days.


Qatar follows in second place, having won 14 rounds, and the UAE closely trails in third place with 12 wins. Other countries in the region, including Kuwait and Bahrain, have also made their mark by winning three rounds each, while Oman secured a single victory.


The championship, which concludes today, will feature the final 14 rounds of racing, bringing an intense conclusion to a fiercely competitive event. As anticipation builds for the final races, Saudi camel owners hope to maintain their dominance and further secure their place at the top of the rankings.


The Saudi Camel Racing Federation, which organizes this annual event, has allocated over SAR10 million in prize money for winning camel owners, reinforcing its commitment to promoting and preserving this significant cultural tradition. Camel racing, an important part of Saudi Arabia’s heritage, continues to grow in prominence through this competition, and the federation aims to elevate the sport to international standards.
