On October 10, 2024, in Riyadh, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC), engaged in a significant meeting with Omani Minister of Economy, Dr. Said Al-Saqri, alongside his accompanying delegation. The discussions centered on fortifying the trade and economic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Oman, two nations united by cultural and historical ties.
During the meeting, both parties delved into a range of pressing economic issues pertinent to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, focusing on strategies to enhance intra-regional and external trade. Dr. Al-Kassabi articulated the strides made in Saudi Arabia's economic reforms, attributing their success to the unwavering support and vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The reforms undertaken in the Kingdom are in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious roadmap aimed at implementing structural changes across various economic sectors to foster sustainable growth. Dr. Al-Kassabi highlighted that these initiatives have significantly improved the attractiveness of Saudi Arabia's business environment, elevating its global competitiveness and garnering positive assessments in various international economic reports.
Moreover, he noted the NCC's commitment to continuously enhance the business landscape in the Kingdom by collaborating with relevant government entities to propose and develop policies aimed at improving competitiveness. The robust trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman were underscored, with trade volume recorded at SAR 36.8 billion, reflecting Saudi exports at SAR 22.5 billion, thereby showcasing the potential for further economic collaboration and growth.
