The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) are set to organize the World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY) in Thuwal, Jeddah, on December 2-3. This global competition, simultaneously taking place in 39 countries, will engage over 18,000 students from public schools, including those in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In its second consecutive year, WAICY has attracted over 6,000 project submissions from participating students, featuring both remote and in-person discussions. Positioned as one of the largest international AI competitions, WAICY is championed by SDAIA to equip the future generation with the skills to learn and apply AI technology in addressing real-world challenges. The competition will employ an integrated approach, with students presenting their projects online, accompanied by explanatory videos. Selected projects will be scheduled for specific presentation times during the competition, covering three tracks: AI Showcase, AI Generated Art, and AI LLM. WAICY significantly contributes to elevating human development in the Kingdom by enhancing the capabilities of both male and female youth in modern technology. Additionally, it prepares Saudi youth for success in advanced technological fields, solidifying the Kingdom's position as a global hub for cutting-edge technologies and AI advancements.
