The event also introduced the "Digital Saudi Strategy", aimed at fostering the digital economy and enhancing collaboration between sectors, alongside the "Digital Transformation Ambassador" program to promote an integrated digital community.
The Digital Government Authority (DGA) launched the "Platforms Code", a unified design system to standardize government platform interfaces, enhance user satisfaction, and accelerate sustainable digital transformation in line with local and international standards.

Riyadh, November 18, 2024 – The Digital Government Authority (DGA) has unveiled the "Platforms Code," a unified design system that serves as the national standard for designing and developing government platform interfaces in Saudi Arabia. The initiative is aimed at standardizing digital interfaces to deliver a consistent and comprehensive user experience, enhancing overall satisfaction with digital government services.

The Platforms Code was officially launched during a high-profile event attended by ministers, digital transformation leaders, and key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. The announcement underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure as part of its Vision 2030 objectives.

DGA Governor Eng. Ahmed Al-Suwaiyan emphasized that the Platforms Code aligns with both local and international digital standards, marking a pivotal step in the Kingdom’s journey toward comprehensive digital transformation. He highlighted that the initiative empowers government entities to accelerate their adoption of sustainable digital solutions while delivering efficient, user-friendly services. The standardized framework supports the strategic goals of digital governance by ensuring interoperability and promoting seamless user experiences across all platforms.

According to the DGA, the Platforms Code is an open-source design system that integrates essential elements such as code, design tools, and detailed guidelines. This system, driven by a community-based approach, enables government entities to expedite the development of consistent, high-quality digital experiences. By providing pre-built assets, the Platforms Code allows designers and developers to focus on tailoring services to specific user needs, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of digital projects.

The launch event also featured the unveiling of the "Digital Saudi Strategy," an ambitious initiative aimed at fostering the growth of the digital economy. The strategy seeks to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors, enabling organizations to showcase their digital products and services more widely.

An integral part of this strategy is the "Digital Transformation Ambassador" program, which aims to amplify the impact of digital initiatives. This program involves appointing ambassadors tasked with fostering an integrated digital community and promoting best practices across sectors.

The introduction of the Platforms Code and the Digital Saudi Strategy marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's digital transformation journey, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in innovation and governance. These initiatives are poised to enhance service delivery, streamline government processes, and contribute to the Kingdom’s overarching goal of becoming a globally competitive digital economy.
