Saudi-Egypt Joint Committee meets March 3-4 for 18th session

Riyadh, March 02, 2024, The forthcoming 18th session of the Saudi-Egyptian Joint Committee is slated to span March 3rd to 4th. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, alongside Ahmed Samir, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade, will preside over the session, with the aim of tackling pertinent issues within the committee's purview.

Set objectives for the 18th session encompass resolving obstacles, endorsing the committee's activities, arranging periodic engagements with internal authorities to oversee the implementation of recommendations, and supervising the committee's functions.

Ahead of the main session, a preparatory technical meeting will be co-chaired by Abdulaziz Al-Sakran, Deputy Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) for International Relations, and Dr. Amani Al-Wasal, Head of the Agreements Sector and Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Recent statistics as of November 2023 indicate that the trade volume between Saudi Arabia and Egypt reached approximately $11.8 billion. Noteworthy trade items include metal products and plastics as primary exports to Egypt, while mineral products and fruits constituted significant imported commodities.
