Saudi Embassy in Egypt hosts Catwalk 2024 for Arabian Leopard Day

Cairo, February 10, 2024, The Saudi Embassy in Egypt orchestrated Catwalk 2024 in Cairo as part of the commemoration of the International Day of the Arabian Leopard, an annual observance held on February 10th. Among the distinguished attendees were Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Nugali, and the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar, alongside officials from the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and members of the Saudi Arabian mission to Egypt.

The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness and advocate for the conservation of big cats, including the endangered Arabian leopard. Saudi Arabia has spearheaded various initiatives aimed at protecting the Arabian leopard from extinction and restoring its natural habitat. Additionally, the embassy organized engaging activities for children to instill values and principles of environmental preservation.

This significant date holds global significance following the unanimous adoption of a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on June 12, 2023. Spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and co-sponsored by over 30 countries, the resolution officially designates February 10 as the International Day of the Arabian Leopard.
