Emphasizing the expansion of efforts through the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI), he outlined steps taken, including a fourfold increase in renewable energy capacities to 2.8 gigawatts. Saudi Arabia aims to produce an additional 20 gigawatts by 2024, with plans for carbon capture and storage centers. The minister also announced a financial commitment of up to $50 billion, underlining the nation's dedication to global climate ambitions.
