Saudi Environment Minister Highlights Green Initiative Progress at COP28 Forum

Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Alfadley, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, participated in the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, coinciding with COP28 in Dubai. Alfadley emphasized Saudi Arabia's strides in achieving the Green Initiative's goals, including planting 600 million trees by 2030 and 10 billion trees in the coming decades. The forum builds on past successes, with 43 initiatives launched and notable achievements such as planting 43.9 million trees and rehabilitating 940,000 hectares of degraded lands. The Kingdom's strategy focuses on sustainability, utilizing renewable water sources and cutting-edge technologies for afforestation projects, contributing to a 300% increase in carbon emissions reduction capacity.
