Saudi Exports to join 9th Iraq International Energy Exhibition in Baghdad

Baghdad, February 13, 2024, The Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) is set to participate in the 9th Iraq International Energy Exhibition and Conference (IEE), taking place in Baghdad from February 12-14. This participation aligns with the overarching goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to diversify the national economy and expand the sources of income by facilitating access to regional and international markets for Saudi exporters.

Under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, Saudi Exports' engagement in IEE seeks to create additional opportunities for Saudi exporters, promoting their products and services in the global marketplace. The authority is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of reliability and excellence to elevate the status of Saudi offerings. The overarching objective is to increase the percentage of non-oil exports as a share of GDP to 50% by 2030.

IEE serves as a crucial platform to strengthen cooperation with investment companies specializing in the energy sector within the Iraqi market. It offers a direct gateway for Saudi exporters to engage with Iraqi officials and decision-makers across various sectors. The exhibition represents a significant opportunity to explore the Iraqi energy market and foster partnerships that contribute to the economic goals of both nations.

Saudi Arabian non-oil exports to the Republic of Iraq have demonstrated promising growth, amounting to SAR 18.17 billion from 2018 to the third quarter of 2023. This underscores the importance of the Iraqi market for Saudi exporters and emphasizes the potential for continued collaboration and economic expansion between the two countries.
