Saudi falconers seek rare falcons prized for unique attributes, enhancing capabilities

Taif, January 21, 2024, In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, falconers actively seek the rarest falcons, each prized for its unique attributes, including weight and eye width. These distinctive features contribute to the falcons' capabilities, allowing them to endure continuous training, exhibit strength for fast flight, and skillfully navigate air currents.

Rakan Al-Shaibani, a falconer, shared insights with the Saudi Press Agency, highlighting the variation in weight and size among falcons, dependent on their specific type. Falconers are particularly discerning, seeking birds that stand out in terms of wing span, overall shape, and the aesthetic appeal of their faces.

Al-Shaibani emphasized that the shape of the falcon plays a crucial role in its evaluation, contributing to a wide range of prices in the market. Falcons with exceptional attributes can command prices ranging from SAR 60,000 to well over SAR 600,000, reflecting the high value placed on these magnificent birds in the falconry community.
